COMMUNITY COUNCIL
INAUGURAL MEETING
TUESDAY 16TH NOVEMBER

Present. Mr Bonnar, Mrs Brown, Mrs Cosgrove, Mrs Lovelock, Mr Wright
& Cllr Clelland.
Apologies. Cllr Walker, Mrs George, Mrs Boyd, Mrs Ramsay.

Election of Office Bearers.
Cllr Clelland opened the meeting and expressed the hope that the
Community Council would continue to play its part in representing the
community.
The Following members were elected to office
Chairperson Mrs J. Cosgrove.
Vice Chair Mrs Y.Lovelock
Secretary Mr J. Bonnar
Treasurer Mr A. Wright

Mrs Cosgrove then took over as chairperson.


Minutes Of meeting 5th October approved.


Matters arising

Blair Mine. This is progressing well with no reported problems. Mrs Lovelock intimated that the initial meeting of the trust fund will take place on the 9th December noted.


Parking at Saline Motors.

This is an ongoing problem area and secretary to contact Roads engineer to seek solution


Twenties Plenty.

This is part of programme to make roads safer. Cllr Clellland outlined proposals being brought forward to combat problems of speed on main roads.


Engagement.
The Council discussed how we can better reach the wider community


Websites.
Explore Community Planning Group which has a link to Fife Direct.

Newsletters.
This could be considered but distribution is difficult.


Distribution of Minutes.

Members agreed to play a part in posting minutes notices at
suitable locations


Theatre Workshops Scotland.
This group are holding meetings at various locations in Fife with the
aim of producing a film based on the experience of mining villages.
Please give them support.


Blairwood Sports Project.
Mr Wright outlined that they are awaiting a decision from Sport
Scotland on a funding package for the project.


Treasurers Report.
Mr Wright outlined balance of funds £702.24, noted

Request For donation Xmas party agreed £25

Request for donation Xmas party agreed £50


Local Plan.
The planning department will be consulting shortly on the future of
local development planning in Fife


Alcohol in Public places.
A review is taking place on this bye law, after discussion the
secretary to respond.

Digital in UK.
The TV signals in this area will convert to digital in June. Help is at hand to guide you on the changes. Members agreed to make the advice available in the community.


Oakley Centre.

The Work to redesign the centre to accommodate local services is in progress. This has caused a great deal of problems for groups which were displaced.


Councillors Report.
Speed limits.
Consideration is being given to evening out the variations of speed
on A907. Your Speed Signs ordered

Fencing.
Action planned to replace fencing on Sir George Bruce Road and thinning out of trees


Dumping.
The problem of dumping at Dean Burn and the land at rear of Old
Mill Lane has been noted and action planned


Winter Maintenance.
The Council discussed the planned maintenance of roads. Agreed to check location of grit bins to allow greater self help
